Welcome to our family's lake house - Dock Holiday
UPDATE: We just added a brand new bathroom! There are now 2 bathrooms on the main level and 1 bathroom upstairs. The new bathroom upstairs has a vanity with 2 sinks, toilet, and tiled shower. We don't have pictures yet but will upload them as soon as we can.
Trade in your troubles and stress for a relaxing, fun-filled stay at Dock Holiday! Bask in the sun on the roof deck of our brand new, deep-water dock, or unwind in the shade underneath as the sounds of the water lull you to sleep. Bring or rent your own boat and jet skis and park them in safety. After spending a day on the water come recharge inside one of Lake Lanier's first lake-side homes (recently expanded and completely renovated).
Our house is jam packed with features:
- Expansive open floor plan with 20ft timber frame ceilings
- Chef's kitchen with high-end appliances and fully stocked with kitchenware and dishes
- Long farmhouse dining table with seating for 12, plus additional seating for 8 at the countertop bar
- Brand new everything: kitchen, bathrooms, fixtures, flooring, paint, doors and trim, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, furnishings, and dock
- Covered deck with gas grill
- Outdoor fire pit with grill grate for charcoal or wood-fired cooking

All bookings are charged a $99 Administrative Fee (or Host Fee). VRBO settings would not let us name the fee for what it actually is, which is Damage Protection Insurance, so we had to call it an "administrative fee". This fee is in lieu of VRBO's own damage protection insurance and covers you for accidental damages to the house above and beyond your security deposit up to $3,000. Please see our Rental Agreement for further details. Also, VRBO automatically collects state and county taxes.

Summary: The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We loved how open the house was. The kids (15-17 yr olds) loved having their own space upstairs. Everyone enjoyed being able to jump in the lake off of the deep water dock and having access to the kayaks. We would definitely rent this beautiful home again

Summary: Our stay at Dock Holliday turned out to be a much-needed escape after our home was severely damaged by Hurricane Helene. The property’s name, a clever nod to Doc Holliday, the legendary figure from Georgia, hints at the kind of rugged charm and character you can expect. Though I’m not a movie buff, I couldn’t help but appreciate the connection to history and adventure, and this place certainly lives up to that spirit. Zac and Dawn, the owners, were incredible hosts, offering more than just a place to stay—they gave us a sense of home when we needed it most. And Renee, who handles the property’s upkeep, went above and beyond, even leaving a thoughtful gift after hearing about the storm damage to our house. Her genuine care for people was a bright spot during a tough time. Her attention to cleanliness is second to none. Good people recognize good people and the owner's and their team clearly know this. The house itself had everything we needed, especially for the kids, who were able to unwind and enjoy activities like stand-up paddleboarding. My oldest daughter, Georgia, honed her skills on the water, and the space allowed us all to reconnect and find some peace amidst the chaos. Gainesville and Lake Lanier offered the perfect backdrop for a temporary escape. We hadn’t considered this area for a quick getaway before, but our stay at Dock Holliday changed that. Summary: We stayed at Doc Holiday for the last part of our holiday and wish we had booked for longer. Amazing location on the Lake and great amenities with paddle board, kayaks and floats. House had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and location was quiet. Hosts provided a useful starter pack and the indoor entertainment was good fun. Local supermarket was a short drive away and it was easy to get to downtown Gainesville for some larger stores. We especially loved sitting by the lake in the evening, seeing the deer and some amazing birds in their local natural habitat. Would rebook if we are ever in the area again.

Summary: We loved this place. It was perfect for our family ages 4-71. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and functional for all our meals, fun indoor activities like doing puzzles, reading and playing games. We spent most of our time on the fabulous dock in the water with the splash pad. The beds were comfy with high end linens.

Summary: 1st and foremost the owners are the most attentive owners we have ever dealt with! Literally returning every text with minutes sometimes seconds. The home is exquisite and the online pics do it no justice! The home is beautiful, the furnishings are great, plenty of room to lounge and be family! The upstairs entertainment area is a blast, great shuffle board table and foosball table, nice place to play cards and the bunk room was a great for our 4 children that accompanied us! Now to the fun stuff, this is by far the best dock we’ve ever been on at a VRBO, we have stayed at places on Lake Keowee and Lake Hartwell and this dock was by far the nicest, cleanest and easiest to utilize. Honestly just an exceptional space and it’s a double decker to top it all off! The burn pit is also one the nicest and a great place to end the day with a some s’mores and/or a beverage of your choice. We will 100% be returning next year thank you again for an amazing vacation! Summary: The house and communication with property owner was excellent! However, we spent most of our time together on the dock - plenty of space and shade. Great, quiet location on the lake to paddle, swim and jump off the dock. We all loved it and would stay again!
